We don't have a grill this year. Stepping back, and considering that some people don't have food, I realize this is not the end of the world. We are so blessed to have the resources to eat, and eat well. So I will not complain about our lack of outdoor cooking facilities. In fact, I will do my best to imitate those great grill flavors in my kitchen!
Tonight, I made honey barbecue turkey legs and wings. Mmm MMM! Check out this sauce for a bold sweet and sour sauce that goes well with fish, chicken, or turkey. I adapted a Nourishing Traditions recipe to suit our tastebuds.
Makes about 1 cup
1 T grated ginger
2 garlic cloves, mashed and minced
1 T sesame oil
1 T rice vinegar
3 T raw honey
1/4 c fermented soy sauce
very scant 1/2 c ketchup
1 t dried mustard
3 T fish sauce
Blend ingredients and brush over meat!
