Mark uses quite a bit of raw fruit in his smoothies. Personally, I have a difficult time digesting that amount of fruit, so I prefer to add some carob powder and desiccated coconut instead to add sweetness to the tangy kefir.
If you don't have kefir available (a more formal introduction to kefir next week), use 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of ice cubes, and 1/2 cup of frozen fruit to make your smoothie. Bananas are a must!
